Landscape Charlie is owned and operated by Minnetonka native, Charlie Kraemer. He moved to Shorewood in 2018 and is now raising two sons and a daughter there with his wife, Colette.

Charlie started out in the industry in 1995 with a local family-owned tree service company, where he learned the craft and developed a passion for landscape design and creation.

In 2003, Charlie launched and ran a landscape division for that tree service and then, in 2009, broke out on his own to start Landscape Charlie Inc. (while still maintaining a positive relationship with the tree service).

 
 

Education And Certifications

Charlie received a Bachelor of Science from St. Cloud State University and also earned the industry relevant licenses and certifications:

  • Belgard Advisory Council
  • A licensed Minnesota contractor (MN #BC684026)
  • A certified professional (CP) with the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape
  • A certified installer with the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI)
  • A certified segmental retaining wall (SRW) Installer with the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA)
  • Trained by the School for Advanced Segmental Paving (SASP)
 

Our Team

Landscape Charlie employs a unique process of having the design creator on site working alongside the team to increase efficiency, design soundness and accuracy. Our installation teams are second to none. Each team and individual bring a valuable link to the process that we have continually refined for over 2 decades. Over the years we have possessed a BS from SCSU, building contractor license from the state of MN #BC684026, become a certified professional with the MNLA, ICPI, and NCMA. Charlie is also 1 of 12 founding members of Belgard’s Advisory Council, which is a group of landscape company business owners throughout the US chosen by Belgard to help make Belgard a better company. Charlie has lived in the area his entire life and greatly enjoys performing projects for his neighbors, friends and community members.
